The first “complete street” project is underway in Old Algiers. Working in tandem with the Complete Streets Coalition, the Department of Parks and Parkways, the Department of Public Works, and Cm. Palmer’s office, we are excited to line the new bike boulevard on Newton Street with beautiful water-loving trees. Newton Street is just a part of the large-scale, opt-out planting we’re continuing in Algiers. SOUL aims to plant another 500 trees in the community this season.
